About the Founder of AAP

Lora Mercado founded the Artist Awareness Project in 2012 to assist artists in their mission for recognition and success.

Lora has been artistic most of her life, and has found much satisfaction exhibiting her artwork and photography in local and online exhibits and galleries. She felt the need to help other artists acheive the same opportunities.

She is currently curating a traveling art exhibit for the Northwest Indiana Artist Support Group. Lora is in the process of compiling photographs from other artists and herself, for a book to be published in the future. Details on this project can be found in the Calls For Art section of this website. She will also have a selection of photographs featured in the upcoming book, "Wildlife Art Today" by Cindy Ann Coldiron, due for release Summer/Fall 2013.
